Program-Specific Credit Conditions

The following summer study abroad programs have specific conditions governing their eligibility for tranfser credit, explained below. These conditions are in addition to the credit policies explained here that apply to all study abroad programs.
 

Acquincum Institute of Technology (AIT) Budapest Summer Term
Students will earn 4 elective credits for the Mobile Software Development course; it cannot count towards the Computer Science concentration. The 2-credit Budapest Studies course is not eligible for transfer credit.

Arabic Language Institute in Fez (ALIF)
Students will earn 4-credits for a six-week session, or 8-credits for a nine-week session. Three-week sessions alone are not eligible for transfer credit.

BU Madrid Spanish Studies + Internship Summer Program
Students will earn 4-credits for the academic course component of the program. Harvard does not award credit for the internship component.

CIEE Monteverde Summer Tropical Ecology & Conservation
Students will earn 4 credits for the "Tropical Biology" course, and 4 credits for the "Humans in the Topics" and Spanish language courses combined, for a total of 8 credits. Students who take Spanish language at the beginner level will be required to pass a departmentally administered langauge placement exam in order to receive credit, per the College policy on receiving credit for language courses abroad.

DIS (Copenhagen and Stockholm)
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses taken across two sessions (2-for-1), or 8-credits for three courses taken across all three sessions (3-for-2). One session alone is not eligible for transfer credit. Consult with the OIE regarding the Lab & Research Session and the Architecture & Design Session.

Institute for American Universities, Aix-en-Provence Summer
Students will earn 4 credits for a 6-week course, 4 credits for two 3-week courses (2-for-1), or 8 credits for three courses (3-for-2), taken either in Session A or across Sessions B and C combined. One three-week session alone is not eligible for transfer credit. The Internship session is also not eligible for transfer credit.

Kosciuszko Foundation Program, Jagiellonian University
Students will earn 4-credits for the four-week session. The two-week session alone is not eligible for transfer credit.

London School of Economics (LSE) Summer School
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses taken across two sessions (2-for-1), or 8-credits for three courses taken across all three sessions (3-for-2). One session alone is not eligible for transfer credit. Students must successfully complete all course assessments and sit final exams.

Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses (2-for-1), or 8-credits for three courses (3-for-2). One course alone is not eligible for transfer credit.

Sea Semester at Woods Hole, Summer
The Nautical Science course is not eligible for transfer credit.

University College London (UCL) Summer School
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses taken across two sessions (2-for-1). One session alone is not eligible for transfer credit.

University of Stirling International Summer School
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses (2-for-1), or 8-credits for three courses (3-for-2). Students taking four courses may not earn more than 8 credits. One course alone is not eligible for transfer credit.

University of Sussex Undergraduate Summer School
Students will earn 4-credits for two courses taken across two sessions (2-for-1). One session alone is not eligible for transfer credit.

Uppsala International Summer Session
Students will earn 4-credits for a six-week session, or 8-credits for a nine-week session. Two-week and three-week sessions alone are not eligible for transfer credit.
