Brian Libby
Brian Libby has been Assistant Director in the Office of International Education since 2016, and is also a first-year advisor to students in the College.  From 2017-2022, he also served as a Title IX Resource Coordinator for students at the College. Before coming to Harvard in 2016, Brian worked for more than seven years in the study-abroad office at Tufts University. There, he oversaw the evaluation of non-Tufts study-abroad programs, determined grade and credit equivalencies for international transfer credit, led pre-departure and re-entry orientations, and advised students participating in over 150 programs in more than 50 countries. He has presented on topics related to study-abroad advising at multiple professional conferences and he served on the Executive Committee of IFSA-Butler’s National Advisors Council. Brian entered the field of international education in 2005 working with a different demographic of participants from those in undergraduate study abroad, coordinating charter and partnership programs for older adults at a non-profit educational travel organization in Boston. In addition to visiting countries in South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe, Brian studied abroad in Luxembourg and Paris, and lived in New Delhi, India working for a local NGO. Brian holds a B.A. in History and Sociology from Clark University, and an Ed.M. in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
