###    Does Financial Aid travel with me?  expand\_more  

If you receive financial aid, it travels with you for term-time study abroad and covers everything from airfare and visas to books and ground transportation.

 



 

 

 



###    Do my Financial Aid contributions remain the same?  expand\_more  

Your Parent and Student contributions remain the same whether you are on campus, or studying abroad for the semester.

 



 

 

 



###    Can I get help with budgeting?  expand\_more  

The Financial Aid Office (FAO) will help you create a budget to help you determine your daily living expenses abroad. Financial Aid officers are available at 617-495-1581 or 86 Brattle St. to address your questions or concerns.

 



 

 

 



###    Can I take out loans?  expand\_more  

All students on aid are eligible to take out a loan to cover the term time work expectation for the semester(s) abroad as well as a $2,000 unexpected expenses loan to cover an emergency, or to use for travel/recreation while abroad.

Financial resources for study abroad are available to international students at Harvard in exactly the same way as they are available for domestic students. Don't be put off applying by a monetary barrier — there isn't one.

Personally, I think study abroad is the best use of financial aid and one of the most incredible Harvard opportunities for students with financial aid. You get to live abroad and experience a new culture at no additional cost. That's huge.
