Welcome to Harvard College's annual International Photo Contest! Since 2004, undergraduates at Harvard College have submitted photographs documenting their travels around the globe. See the collection of prize-winning images online.
All current Harvard undergraduates who have studied, worked, interned, volunteered or completed research abroad during academic year 2018-2019 are encouraged to submit their best photos in the following categories:
- Everyday LIfe
- Natural World/Landscape
- Architecture/Built Environment
Photos taken prior to matriculation at Harvard or during a leave of absence are ineligible.
The photo(s) must be original material and must be taken by the student. Each student may submit up to two photos. Deadline for submission of photos is October 15, 2019. Click here to enter our contest. Submissions will only be successful if you read and follow directions carefully. Image files must be named correctly in order for the upload to work.
OIE prizes for the categories listed above will be judged by Makeda Best, the Harvard Art Museums' Richard L. Menschel Curator of Photography. All other prizes listed below will be judged by the Harvard office, international center or student organization sponsoring the prize.
Photos will be judged based on the following criteria: artistic expression, creativity and originality, quality of image, and international content.
Contest winners will be announced at the International Photo Contest Reception which will be held on February 7, 2020 from 2-3:30pm in the Forum Room, Lamont Library.
