The OIE is tentatively planning for Fall 2021 Study Abroad, although it recognizes that students currently are not permitted to travel internationally under the University Travel Guidance. Whether Fall 2021 Study Abroad will go forward depends on a number of factors, including, for example: whether changes are made to the University Travel Guidance to allow for undergraduate international travel; the public health situation at the time; and any travel restrictions that may be imposed by Harvard or by government authorities. The OIE continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation world-wide as it considers the resumption of study abroad programs for Harvard students. If study abroad is permitted, students also should note that individual study abroad programs may be adjusted with regard to start date, content, and other program logistics in order to meet health and safety considerations on site.
Please see the list of eligible fall 2021 programs below, created in consultation with Global Support Services. For fall 2021, we will not be accepting petitions to other programs outside of this list. To apply, please click on the "Apply for Transfer Credit" button, and remember to also apply directly to your study abroad program or institution for admission. Additional application instructions can be found here.
Applications for transfer credit will be accepted to the OIE through May 1.
