Out Abroad

Thursday, April 2, 2015, 4:30pm to 6:00pm

OCS Conference Room, 54 Dunster St.

Every year, thousands of undergraduate students from the United States travel to foreign countries through study abroad programs. A daunting process for most students, it can be especially intimidating for BGLTQ- identified students. “Can I be out while abroad?” “What will my host family think” “How does gender expression differ?” All of these are questions that students ask, and this year, the Office of BGLTQ Student Life worked with the Office of International Experience to create a space where students could get answers from other students. This meeting also provided a space for students who were abroad in the past to share their experiences. This meeting will be repeated in the fall semester in order to provide another opportunity for asking questions and sharing experiences.
