Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad - Rio de Janeiro

The Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad program in Rio de Janeiro (CASA-Brazil) provides students the opportunity to directly enroll in regular university courses at the Pontificia Universidade Católica (PUC-Rio). Students with all Portuguese language proficiencies will study alongside Brazilian and international students, while living with a Brazilian host family. A Language Orientation and Cultural Pro-seminar, taken in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahía during the first four weeks of the program, is an intensive language and culture course that will prepare you for your time in Rio.

Through the CASA-Brazil program, you will have the opportunity to improve your Portuguese language skills while also taking concentration, secondary field, and/or elective courses (department approval required).
